Biography:

Born in South Korea, my journey led me to the United States following the completion of my undergraduate studies. Subsequently, I embarked on a path that saw me achieving a master's degree at Indiana University, Bloomington, followed by a doctorate at the University of Minnesota all made possible through the support of a full scholarship.

Beyond my academic pursuits, I immersed myself in the world of international competitions, independently showcasing my skills. Additionally, I had the privilege of performing with an orchestra at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. These collaborative experiences not only expanded my repertoires but also bestowed upon me a wealth of invaluable musical insights.

Commencing piano lessons for children as young as seven or eight, I've had the privilege of witnessing their commitment to musical studies enduring for over a decade, resulting in the cultivation of profound musical capacity. The ongoing dedication to my teaching has become a fount of immense joy and fulfillment for me.

Despite the diversity in desires, personalities, and goals among parents and each child, I meticulously tailored my teaching methods to suit each individual. The reciprocated respect and love from both parents and students for my personalized approach were so profound that, despite my longing to return to Korea, I found myself unable to leave. This extended stay in the United States culminated in my acquisition of citizenship.

Above all, my focus has been on supporting students eager to take on challenges and those preparing for music scholarships for their college endeavors. Encouraging them to persevere, I am delighted to share that, in the end, they achieved the desired results and secured the scholarships they had diligently worked towards. Witnessing these accomplishments among my students has been the greatest reward and a source of immense joy for me.

As an educator, I carry a deep sense of self-esteem and am committed to imparting piano lessons for the entirety of my life. It is my enduring dedication to share the gift of music, believing in its power to shape and enrich the lives of those who embrace its melodies.
