Biography:
Originally from northern California, Beckett Shuholm holds a Bachelor of Music from St. Olaf College (2020) and a Master of Music degree from the University of Minnesota (2022) in trumpet performance. While at St. Olaf, Beckett performed with the St. Olaf Orchestra (American Prize Winner 2018) and St. Olaf Jazz I (Downbeat Award Winner 2019). In addition to being a member of Brass Lassie (an Irish/Scottish traditional music group with a big band style horn section), they freelance regularly around the twin cities area, and are also the Trumpet Shop manager for Schmitt Music.
Beckett's primary teachers include Dr. Martin Hodel (St. Olaf), Marissa Benedict (University of Minnesota), Adam Luftman (San Francisco Opera), and Anthony Plog (Freiburg Musikhochschule).
Beckett is comfortable teaching jazz and classical styles, trumpet fundamentals, practice strategies, music theory, and audition preparation.
Minimum Age:
Beckett has requested a minimum age of 10 years old.
