Biography:

Lauren studies voice with Dr. Marianne Lemieux-Wottrich at NDSU where she is pursuing a masters degree in voice performance. Last summer Lauren performed as Cherubino in Vienna Summer Music Festival's production of Le Nozze di Figaro, and Jupiter in their production of Michael Polo's Pluto. She is a 2021 graduate of Augustana University and holds a Bachelor's in music and religion. At Augustana, Lauren was a member of the Augustana Choir, Chamber Choir, and the Augustana Orchestra. She also participated in the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra Chorus as well as Transept, a local professional chamber choir. She won Augustana's Concerto Aria competition in 2019, and has performed lead roles in musicals and operas at Augustana. She took piano lessons from the time she was in first grade until college and took 2 years of organ lessons with Marilyn Schempp. While she was living in Sioux Falls, she had around 22 piano and voice students in her studio at Schmitt Music, and looks forward to meeting new students in Fargo!
