Biography:

Omar Macias is a recent graduate of the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami where he received his Masters and Artists Diploma degrees as a graduate fellow of the Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra and studied with Professor Ross Harbaugh.

Omar has extensive orchestral experience having performed numerous major orchestral works and genres across the U.S. and internationally in China and Canada. He has performed on stages such as Carnegie Hall, the opening ceremonies of the World Equestrian Games, and has shared the stage with musicians and composers such as Itzhak Perlman, Jorge Mejia, Jeff Beal, and Arlo Guthrie. He has also complimented his studies at various summer music festivals such as Bowdoin International Music Festival, Brevard Music Center, and Domaine Forget in Quebec, Canada.

Omar is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Musical Arts (DMA) degree at the University of Minnesota under fellowship, where he is also a Graduate Teaching Assistant for Professor Remenikova and freelances around the greater Twin Cities area.
