Elise Ware is a graduate teaching assistant at North Dakota State University where she is pursuing a Master’s degree in Trumpet Performance and Music Theory Pedagogy. She is a native of Ohio where she completed a Bachelor of Music degree in Trumpet Performance at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. While at Miami, Ware studied with James Olcott, Mari Opatz-Muni, and Douglas Lindsay. In 2015, Ware performed in master classes with trumpet performers John Rommel and Elisabeth Fessler, and with Harmonic Brass. A member of the MU Wind Ensemble, she has performed at Carnegie Hall and at the OMEA, CODA, and CBDNA conferences.
Ware has performed twice at the International Trumpet Guild Conference, first in 2013 in Grand Rapids, Michigan with the MU Trumpet Ensemble, and again in May of 2018, with the NDSU Trumpet Ensemble. Ware has served as principal trumpet in the MU Symphony Orchestra and played the role of Harry in the 2014 MU Opera production of Benjamin Britten’s Albert Herring. She is currently the lead trumpet in the NDSU top jazz ensemble. Since moving to North Dakota, Ware has performed with the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra, Grand Forks Symphony Orchestra, Baroque Symphony Orchestra, the Dempsey’s Monday Night Big Band, and as a musical theater pit musician for Minnesota State University Moorhead. Ware also teaches Music Theory and Ear-Training at NDSU. She is currently studying with Dr. Jeremy Brekke and Cassie Keogh.
